‘Hello’ and ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’

Hello!
Yay first blog post!

I’m Rachel, I’m a secretary from the Midlands and I’m 21 years old. As this thing goes on hopefully you’ll learn more about me so I won’t give you a full on synopsis of my life here but I thought I’d write about a few on the reasons why I am cheerful at the moment.

1.       The new Harry Potter film comes out tomorrow! This is both exciting and sad in equal measure. My love affair with Harry Potter started with the books in 1998 when I was about 9. My dad used to read to myself and my brother when  we were younger and he read the ‘Philosophers Stone’ to us after we’d finished all the Enid Blyton and Lord of the Rings books that we had in the house (we will broach my love of LOTR at a later date). I instantly fell in love with the magical world of Harry Potter along with every child of my generation and I’m not ashamed to say (because I’m positive that thousands of children felt the same) I was quite upset that on the day of my 11th Birthday I didn’t get a letter telling me I’d been accepted to Hogwarts. I’ve followed the books and films over the past 12 years and although the films are by no means perfect it all feels like it’s coming to the end. So I’ve got mixed feelings about it, on the one hand it feels a bit like its ending and on the other it’s reminding me of all the joy the books and occasionally the films have given me over the past 12 years.
2.       The new episode of Misfits was on tonight. I love Misfits, it’s an excellent show and so far this series is every bit as great as the 4th series of Skins was terrible (I will save my series 4 Skins rant for another day).
3.       TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!!!

Right then. I’ll leave it there for tonight.

Goodbye till next time.
